Flin Flon’s BLUEBERRY JAM MUSIC GATHERING 2021
4pm – midnight September 4th 2021
NEWS RELEASE - August 23, 2021
Blueberry Jam Redone
Back on July 7th we announced, “The Blueberry Jam We Can Do.” Over the past week we reviewed critical items, resources available, and the time left. On Friday we decided to reduce the length of Blueberry Jam 2021. It will be run for one day only: Saturday, September 4th, from 4 pm to midnight. We realize this means some musicians who have been practicing will not get a chance to perform and that some people will have made plans in anticipation of a longer festival. With more preparation time and more predictability in rules governing public gatherings, we hope to return in 2022 to a multiple stage, three-day festival featuring acts of different sizes and in different musical styles.
Our festival this year will offer, on a single stage and on a single night, nine full bands, seven of them local. Despite the difficulties, we hope this will be an enjoyable, top quality evening of entertainment and help keep the Blueberry Jam spirit alive.
Because we don’t have the resources right now to manage the full capacity of the campground and stage area under current rules, we have gone with Order 11 under the August 5th public health orders. This imposes a limit of less than 1,500 people. With musicians, festival support, and registered campers it leaves an audience of 800 people. In the next couple of days, we will let you know how to reserve a seat online with ShowPass. This will give you a QR code we will scan when you present it on your phone or a printout. We will not be checking vaccination status but we still encourage attendees to mask, use sanitizer when appropriate, and stay in their bubble.
We thank all the performers and other volunteers who generously have offered to assist with Blueberry Jam this year, and hope, for those who we will unfortunately not be able to present on the festival weekend, that we can help share your talents with the community at next year’s Blueberry Jam, and in other events over the fall and winter season, including video presentations. Thank you everyone for understanding and supporting our efforts during this complicated time.
Blueberry Jam Music Gathering 2021 INFORMATION
After reserving your ticket(s) you will receive a digital QR code which you will need to present at the Main or Dadson Row gates for entry into the Festival site. Please be prepared to present this code either digitally or via hard copy at the Main gate or Dadson Row gate to scan before entry. You can obtain a hard copy by printing the QR code at home. Pedestrians may enter the festival at either the Main gate (Museum/Tourist Bureau) OR the Dadson Row gate. There is limited parking for Handicapped vehicles at the Station Museum. For safety, as in previous years, the only vehicles allowed through the Main gate or Dadson Row gate will be those of registered campers or festival support.
To ensure emergency vehicle access, the City will prohibit public parking on Dadson Row and adjoining streets. It is preferred that those using the Dadson Row gate are walking to the festival or being dropped off!
